abstract = "This paper aims to evaluate the geometric quality of Quickbird and
RapidEye images using accuracy 0,02m ground control point (GCP).
The study area is located between the municipalities Belterra and
Santar{\'e}m in state Par{\'a} including a small area UC Flona
Tapaj{\'o}s. This review was performed to RapidEye and Quickbird
images with 0.60m and 5.0m resolutions respectively. The
methodological approach followed the steps: Implementation and
measurement of the GCPs coordinates; the processing of the
observed data; analysis and evaluation of Cartographic Standard of
Accuracy (CAS). The methodology that defines a statistical
analysis of the planimetric accuracy is composed by the trend and
the accuracy analysis. The trend analysis was accomplished using
the Student''s-t test with the objective of discover the presence
of systematic error in both Cartesian directions. The accuracy
analysis was performed using the chi-square statistical test,
where sample variances were compared the standard values
pre-established by the Brazilian Cartographic Accuracy Standards
law. The field data were collected through two surveying realized
in August and November of 2013, using static relative positioning,
kinematic and stop and go. The surveying resulted samples for
geometric image correction and further evaluation needed to study.
After application of the methodology, it was observed that the
Quickbird and evaluated according to the CAS, in Class B to
cartographic document, scale of 1:5000 and smaller and RapidEye
was evaluated in Class A cartographic products from 1:25000.",
